As part of Cork World Book fest, the latest edition of the Cork City Libraries' Teen Graphic Novel project (facilitated by the awesome Colin O'Mahoney) is being released online tomorrow, April 21st! Myself and some other alumni of the project have been invited to speak a little bit about our favourite, more obscure comics and congratulate the makers on their achievement! Hint: mine is by a certain beloved Singaporean cartoonist... But ahh, memories -- I took part a good while back, and loved every minute of it (and made me fall in love with comic-making), so I can't wait to see what the gang have been up to for this one. The guests turning up are a great selection of folks from the Irish (and especially, Cork) indie comics scene, so do come along to enjoy the experience and ask some questions! It's free to attend, and you can register through Evenbrite. But, hey, if the timezone's awful for you, a recording of the panel will be up to watch sometime in May, so stay tuned! |
